Roll printing?

Scott Graham

HI

Am interested in hearing roll printing experiences, on QTR of course :)

Both Mac and PC

Is it working for you?

Do you run it simultaneously with loaded and active Epson drivers? If so, are the Epson
drivers set up on USB or Firewire?

I have been running Ep on FW for roll and setup QTR for roll on USB. The good news is
that nothing bad happened so far. (some one mentioned that it might ruin the printer to
have both cables setup at once).

I have not made the QTR work yet.

Thanks
Scott

Scott, my wife and I have been running our 4000 on roll paper with QTR with no problems. We're using only USB cable. We're also using the 4000 for color printing using the Epson driver and I'm printing through a network setup.
I don't know why you'd want to hook up both firewire and USB; what's the advantage?

Ian

Scott, forgot to mention that we're using Windows XP Pro on a PC

Advantage? mostly habit I guess. FW works great and why change?

but it sounds like I should

thanks
Scott

I'm not sure how relevent this is but at one time I wanted my Mac to
be connected to my 2200 via usb and my Dell PC connected to the same
2200 via firewire. I had intermittent problems with this
arraingement, called Epson for guidance and was told that Epson
won't support this type of setup.

My problem was eliminated when I setup a small network between my
computers and just connected the printer to one computer and used it
as a shared printer. I did find out that QTR doesn't like firewire
connections with Mac computers.

Best regards,

Randy
