Print Tool doesn't save last settings on P800
Print Tool doesn't save the last setting or load a custom setting on the Quad P800UC. It does work on all my Piezo printers.

Re: P800 Issue
Hi Clay, I have had it happen printing DTP but never printing negatives using Pictorico. I did a nozzle check as always and no issue there. ?It happens with plain paper as well.

Re: P800 Issue
When my P900 needs a nozzle check or head clean, the only way it tells me is by running the sheet through the printer without printing anything.

Re: P800 Issue
When that happens to me when printing a DTP plate, it typically is resolved by making a new carrier. I am surprised that the same thing happened when you print on a different paper. The next thing I

Re: Direct to plate
Hi all
As already indicated my main interest is DTP photopolymer printing on my Epson P900. I have purchased and installed the K3 QuadTone Profiler and the Print Tool, following Richard Boutwell's

Re: Dtp on epson3880
Thank you Dave. So kind. My passion. And printmaking was always something I
aspired to since art school and college. I was sourcing my ready made
plates from Spain but now dying to produce my own.

gap and a matte icc profile were included. Attached is a copy of the media
file the file I am using When I loaded

Re: Dtp on epson3880
Thanks Dave. I did create a plate profile using the media installer and
adjusted the platen gap accordingly but I can only see this profile in the
Epson printer dialog and not in the QTR dialog. I

Re: Dtp on epson3880
Joe, First you have to select a media type on the printer under the paper
setting options. The printer comes with There are basic paper media files,
with the thickness, platen gap and .icc profile

Re: Direct to plate
You set the paper type on the printer itself. That is just the size of the paper.

Re: Direct to plate
Ah got you. Please have a look at the attached screenshot. I created a
plate profile using the media installer. It is listed as a custom paper in
the list. So I guess this is the way to go and not

Re: Direct to plate
You can run a plate directly if it is big enough (11x14) and no you have to switch inks by choosing the paper type in the epson media installer.

Re: Dtp on epson3880
You need to install the epson media installer in order to change this. Epson thinks we are too dumb to change from photo black to matte black and so now you can only do it by choosing the paper type

Re: Direct to plate
Thank you so much Greg. Will see what I can manufacture. Looks like it is
not possible to send in the plate on its own? Apologies if this sounds
basic but I am totally new to using QTR and DTP
