QnetIcomGateway
Tom, wondering if you plan to continue updating the version of the gateway specific to Icom repeaters. It's working great on our Icom (as long as we can keep internet running), but seems to be getting a little long in the tooth.? i'm pretty sure i'm not smart enough to do it, but also wondered if there's any chance I could grab the dashboard functionality from QnGateway and install it on my QnIcomGateway build.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDan, ? You want the ¡°mega¡± branch of QnetIcomGateway. Be warned, it has not been tested. This hast almost all of the new improvements to QnetGateway with the exception of IPv6 support and maybe a few others, but does contain the dash for sure. We don¡¯t have a reliable way to test it, therefore, it remains untested until someone volunteers to try and discover any problems it might have. ? Colby ? ? Thanks, Colby.? I may give that a try.? I've got the other master build on a DSTAR repeater now, however we may be sending the repeater to iCOM to check out an issue within the next couple of weeks.? Either before or after that you're more than welcome to take a look at mega if you want. If so, shoot me an email and I will open it up for you. Dan |
Dan if you get the new beta version working and can make the dash "public" (I would suggest not putting the UR field in the public dash) And for Top and crew.. ON the repeater version. perhaps TWO dash boards One needing an admin log in in case he needs to do some UR field things. Dan,
Currently, I'm finishing up a very big project for QuadNet (almost done). My next thing in the queue is QnetIcomGateway, but I would really like to get the mega branch debugged first. There are a couple of task to complete: bring the mega dashboard up to the current standard of QnetGateway and then add IPv6. I'll also get Colby's assistance in adding a help file to explain how to use a better web server. The php mini-server is inappropriate for QnetIcomGateway for most owners. The default dashboard modules for the QnetIcomGateway are MO (show modules) and LH (show last heard). I don't see a big need for multiple dashboards. Ssh is the preferred way to remotely administer the system. Tom |
A year and a half later, and I'm FINALLY giving this a try!? ? And, I'm not even a wanna-be with git, but trying...! I did this... sudo make installdash seems to work for a while before it ends with: ? /bin/cp: cannot stat 'system/qndash.service': No such file or directory make: *** [Makefile:98: installdash] Error 1 Is it safe to assume at this point that I have the mega version installed and can copy qndash.service from QnetGateway? ? ? |
I think I answered my question!? Copied qndash.service from QnetGateway, and all is well.? Dashboard is running and at least gives us the ability to see what's going on and send UR commands.? To be honest, I was about to replace QnetIcomGateway with Pi-Star so that our folks could at least see it without SSH.? Having the dashboard is a huge improvement in my opinion.? Last comment in this thread from a year and a half ago was that the Icom gateway had not been tested.? Has anyone tried it or am I still first? Thanks for the gateway and for the upgrade on the Icom side! |
Alas, I rolled back to the version of QnetIcomGateway I was running before.? The new version was starting up ok. I was getting a message that I was linked to the reflector.? But, I didn't seem to be getting anything from the reflector.? I had a couple of people who were connected to the reflector via hotspot or Peanut call me.? I could hear them on my hotspot, but could not hear them on the repeater. I was able to talk to them on the repeater.?

I rebuilt and started th mega branch of QnetIcomGateway today, and it's working.? But, I'm not sure I don't have problems. I'm going to leave it running for a while to see how things go.? First issue,I had two way audio between the repeater and the connected reflector, and all of the sudden we lost audio on the repeater side.? Stopped, restarted, played around, and now audio is back.? ?
