Girl Scout Cookies @ Baylands :)
Dear all, My daughter asked me to share the message below with all my QRPops friends :) Thank you, Gabriel AJ6X Hello everyone! My name is Sophie and I am 10 years old. I have been a member of Girl Scout troop 60943 for five years. The Girl Scout Cookie drive is one of my favorite times of the year because it gives me the chance to sell delicious cookies to everyone I know. I learn how to run my very first business, manage money, talk to people, be responsible and have fun! Hope you buy 100 boxes! My troop plans to do 3 things with the money we earn selling cookies: save for the future, donate to a good cause, and spend on activities. Thank you! Please order here for prompt delivery at the Baylands:https://digitalcookie.girlscouts.org/scout/sophie427046

The Woodbug
While Zooming today, I mentioned an OM who built a wooden Morse bug. He is in fact Gary Johnson, NA6O, of Livermore CA. You can find an article on his bug at the site below. Very impressive IMO, wonderful marriage of art and engineering. The article also shows a pic of his Morse straight key. You can find other info from / about Gary on his QRZ page and elsewhere online. Four Days in May and Hamvention May 16-18 2 rooms left
I just called the Holladay Inn at Fairborn/Dayton (737) 426-7800 to make reservations for FDIM and Hamvention and they only have 2 rooms left at the FDIM price of $179. If you MIGHT be going, think about booking before the last rooms are gone. FDIM takes place at this hotel. Last year I stayed at the this hotel and drove about 20 mins to Xenia High School where there were free shuttles to the Fairgrounds where Hamvention is held. You could park at the fairgrounds but as I was leaving last year I saw a some cars in mud in the parking lots. I'm not 100% sure I am going but at least I have a room if I do. I think the normal rate for this hotel is $204. Joy N6GO
