I have been having a great time working Pota chasing Activators. I have 32 states worked and 26 confirmed on Pota since June 5th. All cw and 95% on 20m. Using inverted L up 27ft and Chelegance vertical. Both antennas work well. It certainly has improved my cw and operating technique. Rig has been KX2 and trusdx. The more I use the Trusdx, the more I like it. It has an excellent receiver and hears just as well as the KX2. Sorry Eric, but it's true. Of course the KX2 is old technology, it's over 10 years old I think. Lol. What are you guys doing on the air? Doug

As work progressed on the network, some users encountered LoTW opening briefly during which some 6600 logs were uploaded. The logs were not processed until this weekend as we tested that the interfaces to LoTW were functioning properly. We are taking steps to help manage what will likely be a huge influx of logs. We are requesting that if you have large uploads, perhaps from contests or from a DXpedition, please wait a week or two before uploading to give LoTW a chance to catch up. We have also implemented a process to reject logs with excessive duplicates. Please do not upload your entire log to “ensure” your contacts are in LoTW as they will be rejected. Lastly, please do not call ARRL Headquarters to report issues you are having with LoTW. You can contact support at LoTW-help@.... Through the end of the year, you may experience planned times when LoTW will be unavailable. We have been using this time to evaluate operational and infrastructure improvements we would like to make to LoTW. Those times will be announced. We appreciate your patience as we worked through the challenges keeping LoTW from returning to service. We know the importance of LoTW to our members, and to the tens of thousands of LoTW users who are not ARRL members. LoTW, just behind QST, is our second most popular ARRL benefit. I have an ancient (c. 2009) HP-Compaq CQ-60 laptop that I am selling on eBay. I want to wipe the hard drive (not a SS drive) of my personal data. I am aware that simply deleting apps and files and defragging may not actually delete the data from the hard drive. Furthermore, there is a System Recovery partition that I understand can be used to restore deleted apps. I thought of deleting the Recovery partition and filling the available space (about 190 GB) on the HD with movies, music etc. to overwrite any leftover data. Wondering if there are better methods... advice? Thanks, --David KM6RI

Do you just use the controller that comes with the rotor to exclusivity rotate your antenna, or do you add a third party box that allows you to have the computer control your rotor with your logging software? Thanks, Joy N6GO

In case anyone is interested. This is a spy radio used by the CIA. CW only, about 15 watts, Xtal controlled, useable on 40 and 80m ham bands. For what it is, it is a fair price, IMO. This Friday, I will be preparing for the ARRL FD contest exercise. QTH is Maryknoll. We have a nice flat field next to the building with pagoda roofline which you have seen from 280 a bit north of 85. Everyone is welcome to drop by. Friday is mostly setting up antennas too big for Baylands. The operating time is from 11:00 PDT Saturday to 11:00 Sunday. All bands from 160 to 432 will be used.

If you are having problems with the bands, so are the hams on Mars. It appears that even ET8 has been affected. Here is probably the reason.
