KD1JV just posted the preliminary manual for the ATS4 to the AT_Sprint Yahoo Group.? Looks very cool.

Thanks for the heads up Nick. I joined the group a few minutes ago and look forward to what appears to be Steve's latest and greatest tin can radio. This may be the one I have been looking for to use on my bike tours.

Nick,

I am definitely going to get one. There will probably be a pile up ordering the thing. I wonder how many kits Steve will build on the first go around?

See you guys at PAARA this Friday?

From the website:

The firmware is still being tweaked, the manual is barely started and some parts have a much longer lead time to obtain than expected, so I won't likely be able to start taking orders or to start shipping this new rig until the 3d or 4th week of March. The price is now set at $225.00

The ATS-4 now has the ability to transmit PSK using Morse paddle input or from the message memories. Vojtech, AB2ZA has been working on a PSK decoder chip we hope can be tacked into the rig to make a truely stand alone PSK station. Although the decoder chip is not likely to be fully ready by the time the rig finally starts to ship, we hope to have all the firmware "hooks" in place so it can be added at a later date without the need for firmware updates to the rig. Of course, Pocketdigi software can still be used for PSK or RTTY modes.

That's hot.

I can't make it to PAARA this Friday, friends in from out of town through the weekend.
