Sad news, Alex SK

All,

I just received a message from Alex Grimberg's daughter that Alex, PY1AHD, died of cancer a few months ago.

Alex, of course, is the inventor of the first commercially successful magnetic loop antenna, the AlexLoop. Many of us in this group have met him in person. He was a regular presence in Pacificon and HamVention . He once came to the Baylands and demonstrated and operated his AlexLoop and FT817. Some of us may recall a dinner with him when Pacificon was held in Silicon Valley.

If you like to send a note to his family, contact his daughter, Renata Grimberg:

I remember having a steak dinner with him, his wife and Hiroki in Dayton.? Best ribeye ever.

I chatted with him at the last Pacificon and he was the same man then.

Sorry to hear it.? Brazil and the world lost a great ham.

Oh no, this is so sad.? Alex mentored me selflessly on mag loops, and I was behind the camera that day at Baylands.? His boudless energy was inspirational.? I will miss him greatly.
