I have missed the Baylands events for the last couple of weeks due to a bad cough that has kept me from sleeping much. I have been to my pulmonologist and had a CAT scan. The results didn't turn out so good, so he wants to take some fluid samples to see what kind of pathogen might be causing an infection. This is not the first time that this has happened, each time I lose some lung capacity due to do scaring (Bronchiectasis). I think this problem came about due to a hiatal hernia that allowed some stomach contents to get into my lungs.
I miss seeing everybody and hope to get back to a functional state in a few weeks.
QRX and 73,? Dave W6VYC
PS: I will probably have to attend the FARS meeting via Zoom. It should be interesting as Kristen is going to talk about why we should care about SWR.

Dave, if you need a run to the drug store or grocery store just let me know. My schedule is pretty flexible. Take care.?

Joy,
Thanks for your kind offer. I am physically functional, so I have been able to get out once and a while in the afternoon. My challenge is finding a way to get a good night's sleep. Sometimes I try sleeping a recliner chair in the living room and then sometimes I get up in the middle of the night try sleeping in bed. Once I lie down, I start coughing which keeps me awake. I am taking Delsym and Zyrtec which help.
Good stuff from your visit to the QRP convention.
I hope to get down to the Baylands this Friday.....Dave

Dave, did you ask your doctor for a cough suppressant? As you know, sleep is VERY important. I often wake in the middle of the night because of back pain so I know what you are going through. The best night's sleep I had gotten in months was when I had two margaritas with dinner one night. ?My doctor frowned on that solution so I am now "margarita free" as a sleep aid.
I have never tried these but my doctor suggested it once, ? Mucinex Dm 12 Hour Expectorant & Cough Suppressant Tablets.?
If you use My Health or My Chart with your doctor and just send him/her a message asking for something to help you sleep. If they don't respond let me know and I'll bring my 1/2 full bottle of Jose Cuervo Ready to Drink Margarita mix. I recommend the "Ready to Drink" Margarita mix because it's hard for me to do math in the middle of the night to figure out how much toquilla to put in regular Margarita mix.?
