Re: KPH Night of Nights
Hi Eric, Did you call on any of the ham frequencies?? I had fldigi running CW decodes, K6KPH was perfect copy on 14050.? The op is a good friend.? But I chickened out.? Listened to RTTY on 12585 for a while.? Lots of nice memorial msgs.? Fun way to spend the evening.? AlexLoop HamPack w/RC2 Remote
It will come as a shock to none of you that after learning of Alex's passing, I bought the latest version of the AlexLoop (that name was coined by Hiroki) complete with remote.??
Alex went through a lot of design iterations with the remote over many years, but the final result is elegant and simple.? It's a one-screw install, and Alex provides tools and spares.? Here are a couple of pics.? ?ooking forward to trying it out when it cools off. 73, Eric NF6S ex WD6DBM ? |
Re: Cap-Tivation
CapPlugs <<>> is a manufacturer of the hard plastic (polyethylene) and the soft vinyl kind.? These come on a lot of professional?gear. They sell direct, but you can also find them at various distributors?(e.g. Grainger, McMaster). 73? Hi Dave! ? If you search for "dust caps" on dxengineering you'll turn some up. ?? 73, Connie W6EFI? On Fri, Jul 12, 2024 at 00:30, David via groups.io <dkvarn@...> wrote:
I'm looking for some simple soft plastic end caps for SO-239 chassis connectors (pic) (have some metal ones). Do not need to be anti-static. Qty ~12. Having surprising difficulty finding them at reasonable prices (incl. shipping) on eBay and Amazon. Shipping $$$ on DXE. Any suggestions? -- Connie KN2EFI |
Re: Cap-Tivation
If they don't have to be soft, I could try to 3d print them. You'd need a 3d model though On Fri, Jul 12, 2024, 12:30?AM David via <dkvarn=[email protected]> wrote: I'm looking for some simple soft plastic end caps for SO-239 chassis connectors (pic) (have some metal ones). KPH Night of Nights
hey folks, not exactly QRP - more like QRO - but KPH is operating Night of Nights tomorrow, Friday evening.? The story made front page of the Mercury News
MRHS web site has frequencies and scheds: When they took over and restored the Pt Reyes and Bolinas sites, they resolved to carry on at 00:01 as if the station had never stopped operating. Cliff K6CLS |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThere are enough people among us ?who own the AlexLoop and other mag loop antennas to have a mag loop festival/shootout. Let¡¯s do it when the WX becomes more tolerable.Hiroki AH6CY On Jul 11, 2024, at 16:57, David via groups.io <dkvarn@...> wrote:

Re: Doug: Question about QRP guys 20,30,40 antenna
Joy here is what I call the Chinese Clone.? ?The coil is used for 30 and 40 meters, and is about $20 on Aliexpress.? The rest is $27 - $30, depending on who you buy it from on Aliexpress.? So, the antenna. 40 - 6, is a pretty good deal.? I think it would be fantastic at Baylands.? ?Swr is easy to get below 1.2 to 1 on cw portion of 20 meters, no tuner.? Hope that helps.? Doug

Re: Doug: Question about QRP guys 20,30,40 antenna
Well, swr depends on a lot of things including the environment.? ?You can trim the wire and adjust the turns to get it resonate on all 3 bands.? Having said that,? you will get slightly different results depending on the location.? ?I always use a tuner.
I have a suggestion.? ?Why don't you buy one of the Chinese verticals with base and stake for less than $30.? Add the coil for 40 and 30 and you are good to go. |
