To avoid tracking via my web browsing, I'm using Firefox with these extensions:
UBlock Origin
Privacy Badger
Bypass Paywalls Clean (BPC_TEMP is the extension name)
WebArchive - read archived copy of many articles
With those, nearly all content is wide open, and I don't have to use NoScript.? uBlock and Privacy Badger specifically block the faceplant web beacons (1x1 pixel transparent gifs).
LibreWolf is a fork of Firefox with all the privacy stuff turned on, built in.? Otherwise, users beware, gotta configure FF in several places.
DDG browser has the right defaults, too.?? it's simpler (better!) but I think doesn't support extensions?
Going around town, every place has video cameras these days; some run facial recognition software, some of that is illegal.?
ALPRs (license plate readers) are everywhere.? <>
Don't forget about the tracking in your cell phone!? That's a constant battle.
So I'm doing all the above, and running APRS in my car, talking on the radio, and we're always telling each other where we are.
