consistent practice is the only way. ?I've been tuning in and copying whatever I can find every day for five or 10 minutes and now I can do contests at 20 words a minute; ragchews a bit slower. ? No classes, no Morse code trainers, just being consistent and doing it every day for a few minutes.

Doug, I still think about working on my CW proficiency from time to time.? The Long Island DX Club seems to offer a promising resource.
I still rely on CW for very weak microwave DX contacts.? Thankfully, those operators are mostly CW-challenged and Morse speeds are slow.

Oliver, I remember the two of you walking around at every Pacificon. I was always amazed that you were able to make contacts with such compromised antennas.? I have found it 10 times harder to make a ssb qso on qrp than cw.? If I? can hear them, I can work them on cw.? No matter how faint the signal.? But on ssb, forget it if it isn't S5+.? Antennas make all the difference.? ?But it's all fun

Oliver, QRP is 5 Watts.? Hiroki nailed it for the reason the radio is 10W.? We tend to think that every manufacturer designs for the US market.? Not true.? I look forward to seeing it.?

The reason Yaesu limits power to 10 watts (this rig can do 10 watts with external ps), I suspect, is that the majority of hams in Japan are restricted to using only 10 watts max. There are more active hams in Japan than in the US and that is Yaesu's ?(and other manufacturers') major market.
