Joy, Consider a wing nut instead of a hex nut.? There's more to hold on to, so less chance of being dropped, and better chance to find if if it does fall.? AND have some spares in you kit!

Joy, What rig is this?? If you are using 1 or 2 counterpoise wires, yes, they can be too long for lowest swr on a particular band if you are not using an atu.? A wire on the ground is optimal around

Joy, I would use anything that is resonate on 20m.? I used Chelegance MC-750 and the Chinese copy.? Both full sized 1/4 wave verticals worked very well, less than 1.2:1 swr. DONT USE ELECRAFT AX1
