Speaker for QCX+

I generally use headphones with the QCX+ CW transceiver. ?
If possible, I'd like to use a speaker. ?
Checking Amazon and other sources, I don't see any speakers that look like they would work. ?
What I see are bluetooth speakers or wires that are not compatible with the QCX+, some are stereo.
What is recommended for a speaker?

Try JBL GO 2. Not 3 though.

JBL2 has audio jack as well as Bluetooth. Works great with QMX and QMX+.

I'm using a cheap radio as a speaker for the QCX-mini.

You can also record. It is a model called RETEKESS V115.

The above thread was recent with many soeaker examples?

How does the cheap radio work as a speaker. ?Does it have an audio input that you can use?

There is a Line in terminal on the radio. If you connect it from the QCX-mini's Audio terminal, the AUX display will appear on the V115 and it will function as a speaker. You can record.

I use an Oontz? ?...? inexpensive and pretty good fidelity.?

This is a reply to the suggestion to use the JBL Go-2 as a speaker for the QCX+
I bought one of those from Amazon. ?Since it's not the latest, the unit came from a "refurbished" department. I could have predicted what happened.?
I charged it up and plugged it in.?
It didn't work, and is on its way back to Amazon. ?
But it raised a question. ?The cable connection is for a stereo. ?Two wires plus a ground. ?
So how does that work with the QCX+ I presume that has a monaural output. ?

Output of QMX & QMX+ (& QCX) is stereo.?

I am writing with an update on my search for a speaker for the QCX+ ?
It was suggested that I get a JBL Go2 because the older model (the Go2) can connect to the QCX+ via an audio cable.?
I didn't see any new Go2's on Amazon, so I purchased a "refurbished" Go2 from Amazon, only to discover that "refurbished" must mean it was returned because it didn't work and it still doesn't work.?
So that was sent back. ?
I went to the local Best Buy store and purchased a JBL Go4 because the technical advisor at the store said that it would connect to an audio output and all I needed was a $20 dollar adapter cable that connects a 3.5mm audio output to a USB-C connector that is inserted into the Go4. ? As predicted here, that's not a solution. ?The USB-C on the Go4 is only for charging. I verified that with JBL/Harman customer support. ?
It's worth noting the JBL Go4 has amazing sound quality when paired with a phone. I wonder how they get such an amazing audio range from such a small speaker.
So then I went back to the Best Buy store and got an Aluratek Bluetooth transmitter. ? (Actually I had to go to two Best Buy stores, because apparently the Aluratek is popular and all were sold out overnight at one of the stores. The technical advisor said someone ordered all of their inventory online late last night)
With the Aluratek transmitter paired with the JBL Go4, there are two notable things.
1. The Aluratek picked up a lot of ambient noise that changes with its position relative to the QCX+ and other wires in the area. ?The noise, of course, comes through with the amazing sound quality of the Go4. So it's high quality noise. ?
2. When pressing the QCX+ key, to send CW, there is a 1/4 to 1/2 second delay before the tone is heard in the speaker. ?Even if I were able to eliminate the ambient noise problem, the combination of the Aluratek with the Go4 makes it impossible to send CW. ?
It looks like both devices will soon be on their way back to the store.?

There are hundreds of things you could use as a speaker if you actually want a box with amp and speaker in it. An old pocket radio with a trace cut at the volume control and input accross the volume control. You could find or buy a small audio amp from amazon with a 2 inch speaker in a box of your choice or in the case of the qcx. A PC speaker set usually has one box with power and phone connector and a wire to the other speaker. only need the one speaker that has the amp and power in it for a desktop speaker system or the 2 speakers for a more sound on a desktop. Every thing has gone USB this and USB that. Its a mess. At least you can still buy lm386's, amps based on them and speakers of all shapes and sizes. I use 2" speakers hot melted into potted meat or soup cans.? The bigger can with some insulation or toilet paper in it gives more bass. can hide a tiny amp in the base of the can also.
