QRPlabs VFO??

I have some questions about the QRPlabs VFO.
?
I would like to use one with a transceiver.
?
I would like to use the output that is tuned by the encoder for the receiver LO.
?
I would like to use one of the other outputs for the transmitter.
?
Am I able to use all three outputs indepenently? I have no interest in the GSP fearures. Can that output be used for other uses?

Hi Bob

The Clk0 output is rotary encoder tuned. The Clk1 output is set to a fixed (configurable) value. Clk2 is not available, it is used for frequency counting when GPS discipline is used.?

In the ProgRock kit all three Si5351A outputs are available, but IF a 1pps signal appears at that the 1pps input, then it automatically uses the Clk2 output for frequency counting, for the GPS discipline - then Clk2 is no longer available as a user output.?

I suppose it would not be impossible for me to add an enhancement to the VFO kit so that when the GPS is not being used (GPS mode is 0) there is an additional Clk2 configuration, and so you can use that third output. Then the behaviour would be similar to the ProgRock kit in that regard.?

Hans,
?
I can live with the two clock option.
?
What would be nice was the ability to copy Clk0 to Clk1.

I am a skilled ATmega programmer and the ATmeaga 238 is probably my favorite chip.

could a VFO mode for the ProgRock be added? a mode that doesn't write the settings into the EEPROM space, one that just updates the registers in the Si5351A to alter the frequency output.

Hi Juston

How should the ProgRock "VFO" be adjusted, in that case?

Justin,

I do not know if Hans has anything in mind but I find the serial control is good for setting frequencies when testing.
Section 3 in manual, my way, I think simpler because I have no Arduino
