QMX WSPR fault

Hi group. ?I’ve been using a QMX for wspr. ?First outing on 40m worked fine but it hasn’t worked since. The string is set as per the manual. ?I see power out as shown on my digital set/power meter. ?The aerial works as shown by RBN when I send cw from the same QMX ??

whatever I do I get no reports on wspr and simply cannot see why. ?

any ideas? ?

David,

The usual issues with WSPR on QRP -Labs products are incorrect frequency and incorrect time setting.
The frequency should be close enough on a QMX with the ovened crystal, so check how accurately you've set the clock. I believe it has to be within 2 seconds.

John thanks.? ?I have the time to within a second.? What should the on screen frequency be?? ? (by band if you can!)

Hi David,

With earlier QRP Labs you had to set a frequency of the official dial frequency? plus 1500 Hz plus or minus 100Hz. This is because a conventional SSB Tx would take a tone in the range 1400 - 1500 Hz and transmit this as upper sideband, whereas the QRP Labs equipment outputs directly.?

As far as I know QMX works the same, but I've not tried WSPR on my QMX.

Hope this makes sense and helps.

David,

Sorry, it should read “in the range 1400-1600Hz”.
