It sounds as if the left encoder is not working properly. Check on the terminal diagnostics screen. there are a number of RED items. when you successfully exercise each of these items, the RED will go away. A strong suspect is that the left (volume) encoder is not responding to clockwise turning. This might be a bad connection from the encoder to the encoder sub assembly or a bad connection from the sub assembly to the main board. If you can check the continuity of those paths, you might find the issue.?

Or you can just PM Hans and see what he can do for you.

The screen and test show a problem with the left encoder.? That could be a connection, a solder joint, or a bad encoder.

I suggest contacting QRP-Labs support to see if they can send another encoder.? I again urge you to find a local Ham who can help with the diagnostic and repair.? You must take apart the QMX, desolder the old part, and solder in the new part.? It is also a good idea to visually inspect all the connections to the control board.

Yes, very wrong. The left (volume) encoder is definitely not working correctly. A bad encoder is one possibility, but a bad solder connection is more likely. Now you have to trace the circuit from the encoder lines back to the main PCB to find out where it is not connecting. Highest probability is right where the encoder wires are soldered to the control sub assembly PCB. Other possibilities are a bad solder connection of the male and female pin connectors between the two boards. If you find no discontinuity, then a bad encoder is possible.

Good luck tracing it! Hopefully it is something simple.

Mine does that every now and then. A quick power-cycle fixes it. Another bug, I reckon. I haven't replicated it enough to report it.

?This can happen if you enable IQ mode. Make sure it's disabled in the System Config menu.

Juan, I am well!

IQ mode reroutes the audio to the built-in USB sound card. I enabled mine one day and lost all audio from the speaker jack. Go through the menus until you get to the System Config menu. From there, you will see a setting called "IQ Mode". Make sure it is set to DISABLED.
