Oh, yes, I'm sure :D Seriuosly, give it a break, take some real rest. It'll be good for you as well as for your projects/ideas...

A feature for consideration:? Have a configuration option that keeps frequency location associated with various modes.? Example: I tune to 14.040 in CW mode, and then change to modes to USB and tune to 14.320.? If the option is enabled and I? switch back to CW mode, it would change the frequency back to 14.040.?? All modes would have the option for a? "last used" memory.? Everything is pretty close together when switching from CW to DIGI, but I realized scrolling through 10M band today in USB that I was getting some distance away from CW territory! |
very low priority correction not specifically related to this version:
di di di dah dit ...-.? <VE>? is decoded as the exclamation mark symbol "!"? (or when using memory, "!" is used to send <VE> ).? The actual exclamation mark dah di dah di dah dah ?-.-.--? is not recognized.?? While the "!" is non-standard, <VE> does seem to have common reference, but I admit not being able to find it in the ITU pdfs.

<VE> (with the meaning of "verified" or "copied" or "confirmed") is attested with the same meaning in the ARRL Handbook since the 1949 edition () , and in various historical commercial and military radio operating manuals. I am not sure whether it was used in landline telegraphy at any point though.

Hope this helps.

So I applied 1_01_002 to a low band and high band QMX, and a QMX+. All three updated fine. Low band and QMX+ worked well and calibration was nominal.
?
The high band QMX hung and turned off during calibration (was supplied using a regulated PSU so power wasn't cut etc). 30w Diamond Dummy load (15w cont rated) / checked.

When retrying, the radio gets into a boot loop where the screen clears, backlight turns on, and FW info is displayed. Before getting to the VFO it powers itself off now. Upon trying a hard power cycle (removing power supply, reapplying 12.0v), and clicking the Vol knob to turn on, it booted again, never made it to the VFO screen and made a loud pop. Something died hard. Magic smoke donation to the beta gods. Any ideas? Kind of sad. Was a nice working high band QMX.... Will open to investigate.

There was a known issue for one or two revisions, a short between Q103 and Q105 (see ). Maybe for your QMX it was close to this short and for some reason during your last actions it came to a full short. And maybe triggerd by this you have got more problems. ?
Maybe the loud pop came from C107. For early revisions it was rated 6.3 V but now 10 V. There were some reports about burned C107.

I just saw the other thread where Hans explained that the internal mic is used as the reference for the noise cancellation.

One thing I noticed, probably general and not specific to this release, is that during TX the power meter does not really follow voice peaks very well compared to an external peak reading meter or watching the signal on the waterfall display.? ?This may be due to a low sample or update rate on the meter and may just be the way it is implemented.? It has caused me to wonder if I am getting good output but when I check the external peak reading meter and waterfall it confirms that I am getting good output.

Make sure that in the band configuration menu that you have PTT Grounded ENABLED if your amplifier needs a pulled down PTT signal.? Default is a +5V output upon transmit.? ?PTT output is on the TIP of PTT jack.
