QMX repairs by W1NC

Just a short note to recognize Jeff Moore, W1NC, for his outstanding work in repairing QMX xcvrs. I made a mess of my T507 (SWR/PWR measuring circuit) and he cleaned it up, got it going properly and fixed a couple more problems, probably caused by me trying to fix my T507 problem. His work was technically excellent, prompt, and reasonably priced. Plus he kept me informed at every step.

Thanks, Jeff!

Another cheer for Jeff. A 5V fault took out most of the receive section of my QMX. He found and replaced every blown IC and fixed a few bad solder joints that I didn't catch. The community is lucky to have someone as knowledgable and generous as he is.

?????? I can also report stellar service from Jeff on my QMX.

Jeff provided sufficient context about his findings and fixes¡ªthereby enabling me to learn new things in the process. He¡¯s both genuine and generous, and having such a talented pair of hands and eyes on our home-built kits ultimately improves the building and production process for all kit buyers.

Thanks for the kind and nice comments gentlemen. ?I appreciate it. ?Fixing these rigs is like solving a puzzle. ?I guess that¡¯s why it¡¯s fun for me. ?Plus, these are some of most innovative radios out there. ?It¡¯s great to be a part of the community. ?By the way, as a matter of routine I am putting in 1N4448 SMD diodes across Q508 on all rev 2 repairs that come in. ?That seems to be the neatest solution for that recommended modification.
