QMX+ receive current; what's typical?
?
My QMX+, a factory 12v build,? draws 160ma at 9.28v, the voltage at which I operate for tx/rx.
for all modes. Transmit current is consistent with my readings.
?
The various PDF manuals I have searched, speak of ~80ma for rx.
?
I am interested to know if mine is a typical, and how it compares to other
build and operating voltages between 9v and 12v
?
TIA,

My QMX+ with QLG3 also draws about 160 mA at 9V. As far as I can tell it is working ok. 73/72 John M0JBA On Tue, 27 May 2025 at 15:31, va3rr via <va3rr=[email protected]> wrote: The QMX uses about 1W on receive so ~83mA at 1v, ~111mA at 9v and ~143mA at 7v.? 160mA at 9.28v is a smidge high, but perhaps not enough to worry about? |

Thank you John and va3rr. I am at ease now that someone stated that which I had missed...
?
My QMX+ with an QLG3 probably requires a little extra energy, also, to equal the power consumption of John's ;-)
?
Russ, now that the GPS unit is in the equation, I have no concerns regarding the minor differences
between my hardware diagnostics and the image documented in the QMX+ ver 3 assembly manual.
?
Might it be beneficial to have similar images for different voltage builds?

Tnx agn,
