Hello Chris PTT and AGC are the most often requested features.? Firmware 011 contains not more than the resolution to the Rev 2 PCB issue which has occupied most of my time in the last month. So everything was blocked by that issue.? But now that's resolved so I will get back to the list, PTT and AGC will be top priority so firmware 012. 73 Hans G0UPL On Fri, Nov 17, 2023, 5:24 PM Chris KB1NLW via <chrisrey1=[email protected]> wrote: It appears that the current firmware does not control the PTT so I cannot use my QRP labs 50W amplifiers (at lower wattage for continuous operation).? Will PTT control be in the next firmware? |
Hi Damion Even I'm not sure. I thought I hadn't enabled the PTT. But then I saw some code which looked like I had. So I need to test that. 73 Hans G0UPL On Sat, Dec 16, 2023, 12:26?PM damion.hadcroft via <damion.hadcroft=[email protected]> wrote: Can someone pls. inform on whether ptt for the amp. has been sorted for the current firmware?? We're at rev. 14 and I can't see anything discussing it's implementation. |
Thanks Hans, greatly appreciated.
FYI: having excellent results generally. Very good sensitivity and selectivity. I'm running firmware .010 (not tried .014 yet). Qn. - Will firmware .014 work seamlessly with PCB rev. 1? I note firmware .011 line 3c states: "20/80m BPF TXswap - swaps 20m BPF and 80m BPF on transmit (see Rev 2 PCB issue)" Looks like firmware .011 and on are for PCB rev.2... Per,
I have exactly the same problem with my Rev 1 QMX build running firmware 014. I had good results running barefoot on Ft8 and thought I would try hooking up my QRP Labs 50W amp. Much to my surprise, I have a constant 5V on the ring of the PTT in receive or transmit. I too hope the next firmware release will fix this. 73, Pete, KH6GK |
One more for the pile:
I have both QMX 80-20M and 20-10M versions, both are working like champs, excellent DX all around, running 014 firmware.? But PTT isn't working at all on either version of the QMX, both on the "TX PTT +5V? and "TX PTT grounded"? (open collector, tested with a 10K pullup resistor to 5V) as enabled in band configuration. No output on either, not when transmitting from WSJT (with PTT configured for CAT), not from from by pressing the "p" button in diagnostics in the terminal interface, and not from pressing T either. It's just not working on either radio with pretty much identical behavior.? I'll be glad when this gets fixed up. Meanwhile, is there any work-around? Any point on the board where we can pull a PTT signal from? What about the terrible hack of a current sensor on the QMX power input that triggers a relay? Might be more preferable than soldering to the board. Coincidentally, I've also only noticed this as I begin to experiment with the 50W amp. Cheers, Andy KA1PLU |
I'm aiming to have PTT working in 1_00_015. 73 Hans G0UPL On Mon, Feb 5, 2024, 5:51?AM <kontraptioneering@...> wrote: Also, re: PTT output - PTT doesn't output when in CW mode when keying with an external straight or paddle key, so it's not a matter of CAT control being the culprit. |
---
havn't had time for HAM Radio for a much to long time. But today I re-activated my QDXes and my QMX.
However, it seems to me, that even in 1_00_27 PTT is not working yet.
Or is there anyting else needed despite the setting in the Band config? ---
?
If you have a rev1 QMX then there's a small modification you need to do to the PTT jack to make it work.? Just have to bridge two of the pins from memory but it's on the website so check to be sure
