QMX practice mode suggestions

1. TX switch in digi mode

When we enable the CW practice mode, QMX stops transmitting even in digi
mode. I think it misses the most common use case of the practice mode,
which is to use QMX as a digi transceiver and as a CW trainer.

Practice mode should toggle TX only in CW mode, leaving digi mode alone.
Perhaps there could be a separate setting to globally toggle TX off, if
anyone needs it.
Is the purpose of this for the radio to keep functioning (say listening to and replying to JS8 heartbeats) while you are practicing?

No, not at the same time (although it would be another nice add-on). Let's
think of a (common, I think) scenario when you buy QMX to use it as a digi
transceiver and you plan to go on air with CW one day, but you're not
ready yet, so you're either transmitting digi, or practicing CW. There's a
single switch to toggle between digi and CW modes, so you just press it
and when you're in CW mode, QMX wouldn't transmit, because you set it up
this way.

It's set up this way on my desk. There's a USB and antenna connected for
digi, and paddle and speaker for practicing CW. When I want to stop
catching pokemons on wsjt-x and start practicing CW, in addition to
switching between digi and CW, I have to go through menus and toggle the
practice mode.

I just think that "practice mode" doesn't make sense when it comes to
digi. It should be called differently ("Enable TX" or something; I think
there might be a need for it, if someone wants to be 200% sure that they
won't transmit when they play with settings on a PC, etc.), and not placed
in the "CW Keyer" menu.

So it is just a way to allow the radio to function only without transmitting?? I see why that would be helpful for CW, but not so much for digital modes.

Hello Chelin, in digital modes it works in USB, I only do CW and my question is if I should change the mode to CW-R like I do on the K2, Ft817, Xiegu X6100 etc?

Great thread. Given where we are with FW 1_00_27, what is the best way setting up CW practice, especially muting RX noise?
