QMX Operation Questions

 

I have a completed QMX and have done the 20M sensitivity Mod #2.

I wanted to test Receive sensitivity and Output power. I NEED some idea of how to do simple things - is there a manual for another model that would give a hint of how to do simple things.

Example: My Elecraft XG3 RF Signal Source outputs 80M on 3.520000 MHz and the QMZ 80M band seems to be preset to 3.573000 MHz and the tuning rate seems to be at the ten Hz level. My wrist gets worn out trying to tuning down 57,000 Hz 10 Hz per click - I cannot figure out how to change the tuning rate.

It also SEEMS like using PuTTY to set the band configuration for band start and center has no lasting effect. I have installed v003 of the Firmware and understand it is Alpha, at best. ALL I need at the moment is a quick "how to" for simple tasks.

Sorry, but the menu at this point is just not intuitive enough for someone who is just now working with their very first QRPLabs unit.

Tuning rate: single click on right encoder.

Familiarize yourself with the QCX operating manual. Much of the CW
things on the QMX are coming from the QCX. It will tell you how to
change the rate of tuning among other things. Remember that some
things don't work yet. Having the battery icon on seems to present
noise in the audio so I don't suggest using that feature yet.

Thanks, Mike, will download a QCX Manual.

Did you purchase your QMX without a case? Tuning rate is adjusted by single-tapping the Tune control.
