QMX+: An interesting thing happened today with my QMX +

This is a strange one. This evening I sat down to play with the Qmx+ that has been powered on ever since I finished building and trouble shooting it. That has been about 2-3 weeks now. Tonight I noticed my tablet pc that is plugged into the Qmx+ suddenly booted up. I¡¯m pretty sure it was turned off.
I replaced the battery in the external speaker since it was dead and plugged it into the radio and noticed it didn¡¯t sound right. Playing with the controls proved that something was wrong. My side tone was gone and it didn¡¯t show any output on the swr meter. But the tx cw decoder was working fine. I tested by sending random letters and it was decoding correctly. Then I noticed it wasn¡¯t receiving anything either no matter what band. The more I checked settings the worse it got until it wouldn¡¯t respond to any inputs. The display was still working fine. I rebooted and that didn¡¯t help so I did the factory reset and was able to control things again. I had also disconnected it from the tablet pc. When it powered on the audio from the speaker was really loud. The side tone for the keyer is low. I increased the side tone volume but it doesn¡¯t sound right. It sounds lower in frequency now compared to what it was before.
It is receiving again. At that point I turned it off and went to bed. I¡¯ll deal with it tomorrow.
Has anyone experienced this?

I powered up my QMX+ this morning after doing a factory reset last night. I had disconnected the tablet pc from it as well. Everything powered up fine. I had to set it up again since I reset everything.
I made a number of FT8 contacts and it seems to be working fine.
I have no idea what happened but the factory reset seemed to take take care of the problem.

Don, Every once in a while my QMX+ seems to stick in transmit, or at least muted receive while I'm chatting with someone. It has always come back to receive, but I wonder if it's related. I use a cootie, so it's not the automatic keyer.

Hi Dan,
?
That's interesting. I have a mini J38 key plugged into mine. I wonder if leaving it connected to the Windows tablet PC is partially to blame? Or are there buffers which get loaded up when left turned on for a couple of weeks causing it to act up? Once I reset it, configured it and left it turned off overnight it's working fine again on both cw and Ft8.
