QMX 60-15m Rev 4 troubles
I am happy to report that a bad 22 gauge wire connection appears to have been the remaining problem with SWR.? To resolve the problem, I discarded the enamel wire primary and went with a bare copper wire and a 1 mm i.d. x 2 mm o.d. PTFE tube to make the installation a lot less prone to my ham-handedness at the installation of the primary "winding".? I've attached pictures of the soldered transformer and a 'transmit' reading into a dummy load for all 5 bands. In fact pretty much all of my sweeps now look better than before.? I'm going to button the boards up into the case and see how it performs when connected to an antenna.? For completeness sake and to potentially help others, I'll also post all of my sweeps in the next day or two (especially if the transceiver actually works on the air!).? Thank you so much for helping me get there.? I think a 2 cm piece of tubing and 10 cm of bare 22 gauge wire added to the kit might resolve a lot of issues with improper installation of T501...
