Just got an email saying that my order #50260 status has changed to shipped as of today.

Not sure if it has shipped from MO or Turkey, but it doesn't matter. It is on the way here and it will get here when it gets here :D?

Come on 50329 ?? ? who am I kidding? Several projects need to clear the bench (and maybe new glasses) before the QDX

I got one of those head magnifiers (no they fit on the head rather than magnifying it). One of the best purchases in a while, make everything bigger and better.

I reckoned if they were good enough for Hans to use then they were good enough for me. Just been working on a new QCX+ build and the magnifier makes it much easier than the ones I built previously just using my glasses.

The email only says that the status of my order has been updated to Shipped.

Below the update are the 7 things they must attach to every email with links to different things, including this group.

Regardless, it is not a big deal to me. If it came today, it would be at least a week before I would have a chance to start the build anyways. Too many things going on right now, and I don't have a dedicated place for building projects.?

@ R. Tyson..? I use magnifiers.. it's the stigmatisum? that is do for some help..

This conversation has convinced me that I not only need a magnifier for my aging eyes, but one of those magnifiers that has clip-on holding devices to keep a board and item to be soldered in place. I just checked ebay and they’re called a “third hand soldering tool” and run about $15. One would be well worth that for the frustration they remedy.

And if you’re into the exotic, Amazon has some really-weird, octopus-looking ones for about $45 alongside the cheaper and more normal ones. The advantage of Amazon is that the reviews expose the ones that are junk.

Hans is seen using one in his video on tuning the LPF on a QCX. They are really good, although take a little bit of getting used to at first. There is a swing down high power lens on the right side which is very handy and saves using a loupe lens.

I have a "3rd hand" device with a couple of crocodile clips and a magnifying glass attached. They are O.K for some jobs but are nowhere near as good as the ones I have put the link to. They are available on Ebay and various other places and I reckon it is one of the best things I have bought in a long while....? apart from the QCX+ kit I am currently putting together. I have two QCX and now two QCX+ (including the one being worked on) the first three were built using a jewellers loupe at 20* magnification. This time the "Head magnifier" makes everything a lot easier.
