I am presently running a QCX as a wspr beacon without the GPS. I check the DT on a local receiver.
If I go down to adjust some parameter the QCX will lose time with a few tenth of a second each time.
I think you are losing some clock interupts there Hans.

So you will have to set the clock which is a pain.

I think my U3s show the same symptoms but there I have a GPS connected so no real problem.
