QCX Enclosure / Case Connector? Ideas . . . .?

Hi,

Have had my qcx case for several weeks, and i really enjoy it better than the ideas I've used until this point.??

Question regarding the opening just above the gps connection on the rig when installed.? What ideas has everyone come up with for a bulkhead / pass-through connector which fits that hole?? The serial type I have have all been too large.? I tried just passing the wires through but created a short.? Thought I fried my rig; luckily as soon as I removed the worn wire the rig went back to business as usual.

I've been wondering about this as well, but I don't have the cases in hand yet.? Just got shipping confirmation, so WooHoo!??

Anyway, I was thinking something like this would work, but again, hard to say until I have parts in hand.

I have not received my case yet, so I don't know if this will fit, but I was thinking about using a USB bulkhead connector. If it fits, I will cut out a rectangular hole in the cover plate, mount the USB bulkhead (panel-mount) connector to the cover plate, and cut the other end of this cable off, and install a 4-pin header to mate with the GPS pins on the QCX.

?You would end up with a panel-mount USB connector on the cover plate.?To connect to the GPS, take a spare USB cable, snip the other end of the cable, crimp on the pins and insert into a 4-pi header so it mates with the 4-pin header on the GPS. If someone beats me to it, please share photos.

This is what I did using two 22 awg 4 position connectors. It is not elegant but it works.?
