QCX 3D print
Hi Kent - let me check it out.? I'm using Cura 3.0.1 - but have been looking to bite the bullet and upgrade. I'll try to get back to you in the next day but have some domestics to sort out. 73, Dave On Tuesday, 2 January 2018, 13:11, Kent Vanderploeg <kvanderploeg@...> wrote: Dave, I'm having an issue with the "qcx_case_top_back.stl" and "qcx_case_bottom.stl".? Neither of these show or print standoffs.? Maybe it's an issue with Cura 3.1 that I'm using?? Again, I'm sorry if I'm missing something simple.? I'm still pretty new to this.? Thank you! 73, Kent W9WB |
Hi Mike, you HAVE read the caveat that I haven't printed this version yet - although it looks fine in an assembled model with my board reference model. For the short case you need: 1 off?qcx_case_bottom_shortDRAFT.stl 1 off?qcx_case_top_back_shortDRAFT.stl 1 off?qcx_case_top_frontV2.stl 2 off?qcx_case_tact.stl Optional is 1 off?qcx_case_pot_shim.stl? ?This part makes the gain pot more suitable for a grub screw knob. Don't print?qcx_case_short_draft.stl..? This is the bits assembled as an illustration Happy the email direct if you have any more questions. 73, Dave On Tuesday, 12 December 2017, 12:32, "zfreak@..." <zfreak@...> wrote: Hi Dave,
I'd like to have the "short" case printed for me by the local library, but I'm not sure which of the files listed on thingiverse I would need to submit.? Thanks for any advice you can give. Mike M. KU4QO |
Hi Dave - glad you were able to use the STEP files.? Could you let me see the changes you made (STEP would be great) in case this would help others.? I'd also love to see a photo.? Perhaps you could document a 'I made one'? on Thingiverse. 73, Dave On Tuesday, 12 December 2017, 3:09, Dave Miller <ve7hr@...> wrote: Yes I printed 1. ? Dear Group - added new version of the case to??
This version is to G8MXV's specification and includes more room for the lipo, an on/off switch, battery supports to stop the lipo wandering and no microswitch or DC apertures.? This version has been printed and assembled.? Everything fits!?? Details in zip file on Thingiverse plus photo in main file section. 73, Dave, G8XUL |
I have had the regular CR-10 for about 6 months now that I have been pretty happy with.? Probably about the usual number of issues and tinkering required.? I just ordered the second Z axis drive, so more tinkering is coming my way soon.
I'm currently working on a case and knobs for my NorCal 40A build.? I'd have to move a lot of components off the QCX PCB to use it for the QCX.? We'll see...? Only about 300 more kits to go before mine gets shipped. -- John Sutter W1JDS CM87xi |
Hi Kurt - I'm sorry but I can't give a recommendation but only my experience. I bought a Anet A8 kit from Gearbest.? It wasn't a challenge to assemble.? The prints I get are very usable.? The printer cost me ?110 and the play value is immense. As you say over the water - I've learned a lot. Google will give you all the latest greatest - twin extruders, self levelling beds etc if you want something better. I wanted to dip my toe at the minimum cost - and haven't been disappointed. That's the same one I have. A couple of upgrades I made and I highly reccomed if you haven't made them are the all metal micro swiss hot end and a piece of borosilicate glass for the print bed. I also HIGHLY recommend Makergeeks filament.? Chauncey Baker KD5JBK EM15hl Cleveland County Oklahoma SKCC#17411 On Nov 23, 2017 10:35 AM, "Kent Vanderploeg" <kvanderploeg@...> wrote: Will do!?
