Practice Mode

Is it possible to disable the RF input when using practice mode?? There is significant background noise when practicing morse, since I can't turn off the reception..... I guess a dummy load will help...?

Yes a termination on the output will help, but possibly more useful it’s to set the sidetone to ‘absolute’ and turn down the volume. ?This enables you to adjust the sidetone level independently of the volume. Cheers Nick G0OQK

Despite have a good stock of BS170 MOSFETs, I don't apply power to my QMX unless I have something connected to the BNC connector. I'm just too forgetful. Apologies for the unsolicited advice.

I set the sidetone to absolute, volume to one step above muted, and if
there's still noise, lower the gain with my tool:

I just start it and press arrow down to decrease the gain to minimum, it
sends appropriate CAT commands.

Turn off break in (Vox button secondary function).
Adjust squelch to the maximum.
Which radio are you referring to?

Dummy load is the simplest answer I've found.

Thanks all: dummy load it is! And point taken about blowing Mosfets; I am paranoid about that!
