Newly assembled QCX

 

I recently completed building a QCX-mini from a kit given to me by a friend. I know the kit was purchased before the QMX was available and may have been from 1-2 years prior. As best as I could tell from the parts included, it was intended to be for 40M and that is how I built it.
?
According to the assembly manual (Rev 1.05), the display should prompt for "Select Band: 160m".
?
However, this one displays "A 1,820,00".
?
At power on it displays "5W CW Transceiver 1.07a, QRP Labs, 2020"
?
Any ideas or suggestions ?

Reset (an option in the menu system) and choose 40m.

Menu options are:
1 Preset
2 Messages
3 VFO
4 Keyer
5 Decoder
6 Beacon
7 Other
8 Alignment
9 Test Equipment
Save Settings
?
Just about any option I select comes up with "A 1,820,00"
?
Looks as if something is wrong.

Hmmm, which button are you using to "select"?

Ron, so the steps you did were:
Press left button
Rotate tuning encoder to "7 other"
Press left button ?(and you get the "A 1,820.00" display right here?)
rotate tuning encoder to "7.13 Factory rst Sure? Enter 17"
Press left button
Rotate tuning encoder to display "17"
Press left button

If you get the "A 1,820.00" display up at step 4 then you may have a defective firmware chip.

Thanks to all - the factory reset seemed to have done the trick.

Now to do the alignment.
