Kits Kanga

Pierre,
it may be the only way to get some K1EL products, it has been since long time that Steve Elliot sold products to EU.
Sadly, they have limited range of K1EL products, for example, no K45( I hope they will carry the K46).

The K1EL K46 looks very attractive and probably more than PreppComm products but I would not build their OpenQRP 40M trx as a QCX+ would be far better and cheaper.

I have bought a couple of K42s, first one without backlit and I spent some time retrofitting it (display was not so common).
Luckily I was able to make Steve change his mind about it and he eventually implemented backlit display in a later release.
After that, it was not possible to have Hamcrafters products shipped to Italy, COVID, components crisis and so on.

He started an OpenQRP project long ago, but never been/meant to be in the QRPLabs rtx league.

Honestly, nothing come close to the addictive kits Hans sells, even not factoring his low prices.

Steve is king of keyers, no doubt, his chip is inside most top notch equipment, like MicroHAM and so on.

K46 has several improvements over previous ones most noticeably(I can speak about K42):

- more lines on LCD
- can be connected to a computer, while for example K42 was strictly a portable device
- USB keyboard interface (previous was PS/2, and compatibility was a problem)
- ,,,

Not cheap, but his quality is excellent. K42 seems not a kit, much like Hans kits.
