Just joined the group qmx on the way

Thanks for letting me join the group. ?I placed an order for a qmx kit when I found out about the experimental ssb firmware. ?The boards look to be a work of art. ?Short of printing a mini mic housing anyone have a recommendation for an amazon mic they have gutted and put the proper element in? ?I have the modded mic I did for my sbitx I will try, but the element in it now may have too much gain. ?Looking forward to using this in the field and maybe in the shack!

I used the?microphone element that Hans recommended. Went to Home Depot and bought some PVC pipe and end caps. Ordered a $3 ptt switch from Amazon and had a great microphone for under $20. I have had excellent success with 28 SSB POTA contacts. I get good audio reports.IMG_0476.HEIC

I have these two mics.?
Retevis Walkie Talkies Mic, LED...
?
Retevis HK008 Shoulder Speaker...
?
both work well after you add the two jacks. I use the non-powered one in my go bag and it works great. No other mods needed. The powered version is louder but larger?
?
I prefer the smaller one. Several QSO¡¯s with it today as a matter of fact.

Check out my audio using the first mic above, Retevis non-powered mic. 1:05:50 time KF0OUH is my call. Minnesota to South Carolina using my QTH fan dipole antenna. ?I think the audio is pretty good. Ive been doing field QSO¡¯s across the US as POTA and casually from my car using a whip. This radio is working very well for such a small, QRP unit. Love it!
