Earthquakes in Turkey
Thank you Hugh, Tony and all Terrible times indeed. We are all fine here thank you, my QTH is about 750km or so West of the affected area. The devastation on the news channels is severe. 73 Hans G0UPL On Mon, Feb 6, 2023 at 4:34 PM <tony.volpe.1951@...> wrote: Yes indeed. A horrible tragedy. It affects Syria also. |

开云体育Hans,Very thankful you and your family are safe. ?For those of us who pray we will be doing so for all those affected by this tragedy. 750 km away doesn’t seem like that far away considering the severity of the quake. Praying that your QTH is safe.? I, and I’m sure others, would like to contribute to relief efforts for Turkey as they begin. I’m always hesitant to contribute based on news articles alone. However, if at some time in the future, you can endorse a group that is helping I would be happy to contribute.? Stay safe and God bless.? Alan, W3AL? Just woke up and saw the news. It's pretty bad over there. Not only was the magnitude high but it was shallow at around 11 miles down. Unfortunately, the number of persons injured/killed is only going to go up in orders of magnitude. I have friends there but haven't heard anything from them yet. I imagine comms are affected with the exception of amateur radio.

Saw the news, came here to see this. I'm glad my favorite QRP Hall-of-Famer and his family are okay! Having experienced severe quakes in Southern CA as a youngster, (Loma Prieta, Landers etc) I know how rattling they can be even when you're not on top of the epicenter.

My XYL has spent the afternoon sorting through warm children's clothing that we can send to the disaster zone.? She recommends?https://ahbap.org/ for financial donations.? 73 Hans G0UPL http://qrp-labs.com |

Hi all Attached is an image of what has been circulating in Turkey. All these are recommended and trusted relief agencies here. Your donation would not be mis-used. Since we live here we are also able to donate warm children's clothing and bedding to government collection sites in each town - a big problem is the very cold temperatures in the affected area at this time of year.? All three links are in English: (bank transfer account listings)?
