Adjusting PIN forward bias on the QDX High band
I recently built the High Band version of the QDX and it works just fine except the power output is only about 2.5 watts on 10 meters.? I followed the process by KK7ER concerning removing two windings from the L10 coil and tried compressing the windings on L4.? In the end I lost power by about a half watt.
My question is how do you adjust the PIN forward bias current.? I can't find anything that tells me how to do that and if it's in the manual I must be missing it somewhere. Any one of help to do this procedure/check? Thanks, Gary A. - W0MNA |
开云体育Sverre, ? Thanks for the response.? I’m still having a problem as I can’t find anything that leads me to software for the QDX.? I’ve looked on the QRP-Labs website and don’t see anything like that except for the upgrade software which I already have.? I’m missing something here concerning software.? Is there a specific software somewhere that allows me to looks at setting up some parameters of the QDX and I just don’t know where to go to get it? ? Gary A. ? Sent from for Windows ? 开云体育Gary, If you don't already have it get the firmware manual for firmware 1_06 from the QRP-Labs website and read section 4. It describes accessing the internal configuration of the QDX via a terminal. That's where the PIN bias is adjusted. 73,

Try page 13 of operations manual. That may help.? That is the page number in my rev4 QDX manual, the procedure to access the settings should be the same.?? On Fri, Jan 27, 2023, 3:43 AM K Accrt via <electricart9=[email protected]> wrote:

Hi,?
so, to summarize what it was said: 1. power the QDX connected via an USB cable to the PC. 2. On the PC run a terminal program, preferably Putty.? 3. Connect to the QDX by choosing the QDX's COM port. 4. In the Band Config Menu you can now change the PIN diode current by first deleting the old value and entering the new one. For each band separately.? 73 Bojan S53DZ |
开云体育Thanks for all the help.? The process worked and I’m now getting 3.5 watts on 10 meters which is one more watt than I was getting.? It was a good learning experience. ? Gary a. – W0MNA ? Sent from for Windows ? From: bojan.naglic
