Ultimate 3S - Si5351A issue?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Folks ? After well over two and a half years of WSPR on 20M, ?I ceased being ¡°heard¡± ¨C it transpired that the RF output is spot on frequency, but when transmitting it appears to be sending ¡°noise¡± for want of a better description. The I2C level converter FET¡¯s appear fine, and data is indeed reaching the Si5351. I have also noticed the signal level from the chip is falling as well each time I check it (the 3.3V supply to the chip is fine btw.) The output from the chip has fallen to just 5 millivolts of noise now, and has remained at this level. I have ordered a new synth module kit (as replacing the chip is somewhat beyond my SMD soldering skills) ¨C that is due to arrive today. Has anyone else come across this problem? The only other thing it could be I guess is the microcontroller code being corrupt? That doesn¡¯t appear to be available separately though.. ? Regards ? George G7GQC ? ? |

I have a lot of experience burning U3S... :) , the easiest thing to die is the processor and it's easy to replace, recently by feeding with 13.8v it died for the first time a synthesizer, the problem was the LM317LZ regulator that I replaced and for safety I also replaced the transistors in the synthesizer and in the main QCU board, this time the screen also died.?On other occasions, only the processor has died...
