QDX Go Box Build
Figured I'd share this with my friends.? I put together a box with an old 15" laptop monitor in the lid, 16 amphour lifepo4 battery w/30amp bms, raspberry pi zero 2 w w/fan and USB hat, impulse electronics solar charge controller, various cables with power pole connectors, etc. I also included a Xiegu G1m for SSB and CW(gotta keep practicing the code).? Still needs a little spit and polish, but I think it's coming together! Tell me what you guys think ?

Hello Gene, ? ?I'll have to disassemble the screen in order to get the model number, give me a bit and I'll?get back to you. As far as powering the Zero, I use a buck converter/powerpole cable that I made.? Same goes for the QDX which I built for 9 volts. I tried to keep everything "modular" as much?as possible. I'll actually use a tablet with VNC versus using the 15" screen unless I'm able to actively charge with solar or station power, as it is quite power hungry. |

I also used a laptop screen in a dry box for uBITX and raspberry pi..? I bought a hdmi control based on info on the back of the laptop screen through Amazon.. works pretty good.?? |
When you adjust the voltage on the buck converter, at what load do you set the voltage, since there is such a swing between Rx and Tx load. I am very skeptical of using buck converters because there is essentially no voltage regulation, especially when there is > 15x load swing between Rx and Tx.,
