10 Watt Linear Amplifier Input power
#10W_PA
I have ordered and should receive a 10 watt linear amplifier kit sometime this week. Since the gain is approximately 22 dB, I do not want to overdrive it so I was wondering what the maximum input power should be.
Was this amp designed for an existing QRP Labs transceiver? Thanks in advance for your input! Ed, K0KC |
Ed, this amplifier?was designed for the QSX which isn't available yet. It's gain is actually 26 dB, not 22. Subtract 26 dB from 10 watts out and the input is only 25 mW. I have one in a homebrew transceiver and it works as advertised at this input level. Good luck ..
