Due to a scheduling error at my job (hehehe) I actually have this weekend off and I decided to take my QCX Mini 20 and my QCX 40 to a local hilltop and try to activate it. This location doesn't qualify for POTA or SOTA, but it's still a great place to operate a radio with a great view of the Los Angeles area. I'll be up on 20m around 14.060 and on 40m around 7.060 on Saturday 18 December at about 9AM PST or 1700 UTC, grid location DM13cp; Turtle Rock Viewpoint in Irvine, CA. Equipment will be my QCX Mini 20 and QCX 40, Elecraft T1 ATU, and a QRP-Guys Tri-Band vertical.?Hopefully I'll be able to be hard in most of the Western USA and Canada and maybe make a few contacts, especially QCX to QCX contacts.
