QDX power supply

I received notice this morning that my QDX (order 50032) had shipped from the US lot. On rereading the doc I was struck by the repeated mention of 12 volts, not only for the RF amp, but also for the delicate AMS117 voltage regulator. Like most hams my "12 volt" shack supply is at 13.8 volts and not easily adjustable.? If I wind T1 to 3:2 is it safe to use a standard power supply at 13.8 volts?

I use a 12v switcher marketed for the Raspberry Pi for all my Mini & Plus building & testing, and observed had no issues.

You may want to consider using a variable regulator for the PA supply, on long duty cycle modes

I see on the??link it has the following under "List of Features" i.e. 13V
  • 5W output at 9V supply (can be built for 4-5W at 12-13V supply)
  • Receive current 100mA, Transmit current 1.0-1.1A for 5W output with 9V supply (around 0.7A for 5W with 13V supply)
