Crystal Heat Sink for the Synth module

Well that's promising. The first 8 spots after getting the PA lined back out had 0 drift. Maybe the brass donut did the trick. on 80m the same rig was drifting between 1 and 2.?

Hello Micheal.?

I had a similar problem in 20m trying to get the drift stable.?

Before doing anything to the rig, I used to get awful drift. Really to the point of getting zero spots. -4 -3 were very common after leaving it alone for a long time yet it never stabilised.?

It was worse when I put the rig in the case as the thermal effect of the finals heating up caused the signal to drift. I could see it during a TX cycle just by watching my own received signal. Simply blowing on the crystal when in a TX cycle sent it west..!! It's very sensitive.?

Then after implementing park mode AND covering the crystal with a small foam block did I get considerably better results.?

If you haven't tried park mode as well yet then give it a go. But from what you've described the small brass heat sink is doing a sterling job.?

Following the instructions does work Hi Hi.?
