¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Sven, The product home page has the "important" information of the differences in V4 revisions! Alan On 10/07/2018 11:21, Sven-Orjan Larsson

Hi, |
Hi Sven, all Yes, Alan is correct - PCB Rev 4 is being supplied now in some cases... the only change is the replacement of C21 & C22 with 0.1uF capacitors (formerly 10uF) to reduce click on Tx/Rx changeover. There is also space for a 10nF capacitor (now named C54) from the wiper of the gain potentiometer to ground but this 10nF capacitor is optional and is not included in the kit. The benefits of it are less clear-cut I think, compared to the 0.1uF capacitors.? I have just also uploaded some images to make this clear too. I will edit the manual when I have time but it is quite a large job that I don't have time for right at this moment. The silkscreen layout diagram has to be changed on almost every page of the US and non-US manual versions and it's quite some work. So for now, the note on the QCX page must suffice.? 73 Hans G0UPL On Tue, Jul 10, 2018 at 2:01 PM Alan de G1FXB via Groups.Io <g1fxb=[email protected]> wrote:

Hi,
For the sake of clarity, I assume that the only change is the part footprint on the PCB and we should be retrofitting 100nF caps on rev 3 boards as well in the existing footprints?

Hi Chris ?
In Rev 4 C21 and C22 are replaced by a smaller part footprint, for the 0.1uF (instead of 10uF). They were moved a bit to make space also for the optional C54. But there is no change to the electrical circuit as such. On Rev 3, it is equivalent to replacing 10uF capacitors C21 and C22 with 0.1uF.? 73 Hans G0UPL |

Excellent. Thanks for confirmation. Got an excuse to fire up the soldering iron tonight :)

Greetings all; ? ? OK so I understand the differences between Rev 3 & 4.? Since my 20m version is Rev 2 & 40m version is Rev 3, can I make those changes reflected in Rev 4 to my Rev 2 & 3??? 73; Kurt - W2MW
