QMX Plus PC Board
Yes, they are for a hardware mod to use the PTT out connector as an additional serial control/status port for the QMX processor.
You remove the transistors Q203/Q204 and connect those two solder bridges to change that to a serial port connector.
But support for that serial port is not yet implemented in the firmware, and with the additional USB virtual serial ports now available, may not be needed.

Hi, I beg to differ, as I'm planning on making my MRF101AN amplifier ask the QMX+ about the TX frequency continuously?in order to make the Amp choose the correct LPF? Using?a serial connection between the amp and QMX+, the future extra serial port is needed? :-) Best Regards, Jonas - SM4VEY Den tis 27 maj 2025 kl 21:30 skrev Stan Dye via <standye=[email protected]>:

On a similar note, I would like to interface my QMX+ with my Hardrock 50 or my KXPA100 amplifiers, and having a way to automate the band switching would be of interest to me; PTT switching is handled natively already.
Apparently the HR50 "understands" KX-3, FT-817 and Xiegu serial band information formats, KXPA understands KX3 serial data and Icom and Yaesu band voltages.
I also have the QMX+ dev kit so have access to the BPF and LPF signals.? One of the clever folks on this?forum must have figured this out already, or perhaps there is a commercial product out there that I haven't found.
Would anyone who has figured it out mind sharing your approach???
Thanks and 73, Don N2VGU
