Simple question about the QRP Labs Clock kit.

I just purchased the QRP Labs Clock kit along with the GPS unit, the QLG-2. Assembly was pretty darn hard with about four parts to solder up, but I managed to get them all mounted and the unit works well. My question is? How do you program the clock to display anything besides the stock GPS display?? It seems that the Clock kit that I received does not resemble any of the Clock kits listed on the web page. It does not have the two programming buttons and my feeble attempt to communicate with it was not very successful. The new Clock kit has none of the pats that are listed for the older designs on the website. The only parts I had to put in either kit were a contrast pot, a few headers, and a USB receptacle.? I can talk to the GPS receiver and get the firmware version, but I have not been able to address the clock to show Maidenhead grid squares or anything else. That 6 digit Maidenhead info would be a nice feature for me. It seems that the Clock Kit shown on the website is not the clock kit that is being shipped and I am not sure how to proceed.

Dave,? You should have gotten two little buttons to mount on the board. You can also connect external buttons, which is what I did. The clock will work with a 20x 4 LCD without modifications, except that the LCD's PC board is bigger and the holes don't line up. The link to the instructions for operation and programming is right under the link for assembly for firmware c1.03 :

Hello Dan

My clock as delivered by QRP Labs is not the same as what is pictured on the website. The circuit board is different. The ICs are hidden under an epoxy covering on the back side of the display. There is no provision for switches to program the clock either.? There is no clock crystal nor parts to install. My clock kit required no assembly other than soldering some headers and the contrast pot is located on the QLG-2 board There was only one ckt board in the clock kit, not two. . The whole setup (clock kit plus GPS board) is now two circuit boards. The clock all by itself is shown as two circuit boards on the website.?? I am very confused.? The clock works great with the stock screen setup. I have found no documentation to change it. The QLG-2? GPS IC has some documentation on the QRP website under the QLG-2 instructions, but I can see no way to program it.? Maybe I was sent something else?

Hello Dave

I checked your order. I'm sorry but you didn't order the clock kit. You ordered the QLG2 with LCD accessories kit. The display on it is currently not configurable.

You did not order the clock kir. Which is here:

Clock Kit shown on the website is not the clock kit that is being shipped

Hello Hans

That is strange, and as I was looking things over, I wondered if I possibly never got the clock kit.? I am not sure what happened with the ordering process as I thought I was ordering the Clock along with the GPS accessory.? I will place an order ASAP.? Thanks for the clarification. It seems that I can make an entire homebrew station and antennas to bounce signals off the Moon, but I cannot place an order on the web.
