I'm not sure how soon this will be.? Hans used the A/D attached to that mic to do some necessary internal noise cancellation caused by the internal processor A/D circuits - so he would have to figure out a different way to do the necessary noise cancellation.? If you turn off the noise cancellation, you will hear the noise, which for most people would be at an objectionable level.

As an alternative, it is very easy to make a small mic that plugs in the mic connector at a right angle, making a very small mic attachment to the radio, then use vox to activate it.? Just attach a mic cartridge directly to a 3.5mm stereo plug, and seal it with some non-conductive epoxy.? Someone else on this list showed this approach a month or so ago.

And Yoon (as well as others) have proved that by speaking loudly, you can make the internal mic work as-is, albeit with lower audio fidelity.
