QMX T501 wire gauge

I'm thinking of rewiring T501 to change from a 12V unit to a 9V unit.
Can I use 20 gauge wire instead of the supplied 22 gauge?

You can, but I wouldn't.? The wire diameter is large enough to make winding very difficult, and the transformer likely less efficient.? Does it even fit in the board holes?
Choose any smaller gauge, 22 or below, like 24, 26, or 28.

Ah, I hadn't thought about the board holes.
I'll find some 22 gauge.
Thanks.

It will be easier if you use 24, 26, or 28 gauge.? All new kits use the same small wire for T501 as for the tiny toriods, and it actually works better.

Well, I do have 26 gauge here, so I'll use that.
Thanks.

Go with #26 its more than heavy enough and easier to work with
than thicker wire.
