Other rotary encoder for QMX and QMX+?

I am using a QMX and QMX+, but do not like the encoder to tuning the band up and down.
Every step is a grid.
Is there a replacement possible for the rotary encoder to tune the bands like on a K1/K2?

There are modifications for encoder mechanic you can do to get more slide filling.
 

Harry, tuning the QMX+ from one end of the band to the other is not enjoyable!?

I have tried a 400ppr encoder with no indentations, but the QMX is unable to keep up.
?
Tuning the QMX with a decent encoder would unleash the rig it could be.
?
Hans, is there any chance you could speed up the response to the encoder so that a better encoder could be used?
