CW on Digi mode?

I purchased a prebuilt QMX+ at FDIM and only ?just got the opportunity to fire it up. For some reason it hears CW better in digital mode than in CW mode. Any suggestions how I can ?fix this?

I had a similar question. When using(transmitting) the QMX with FLDIGI in CW mode, should the QMX be in DIGI mode or CW mode?

If your external program is keying the QMX via the paddle port or keying commands, it should be in CW mode.
If it is generating a tone to send (this is how I use FLDIGI), then you need to use DIGI mode.

Digital mode uses a wideband filter to receive the whole SSB receive bandwidth, about 200Hz to about 3200 Hz.
In CW mode you select your filter.? You can select it to be "off", which then reverts to the full wideband filter just like digi mode.
See the operations manual section on CW filters, there are several selections, tied in with the sidetone frequency and offset. Other than "off", the largest CW filter bandwidth is 500Hz.
When you have the CW receive signal centered in the narrow CW filter, it normally is at least as strong as with the filter off, usually stronger.
