QMX Kit

Hi, I bought a QMX kit and I'm missing one 30pF (C401) 2.54mm capacitor - maybe someone has one for sale?

C509, Electronics parts available right here on groups.io was created just for occaisions like this! Let me wake up and check my stuff as I may have a couple. What part is it for the QMX. Meaning, like "C509?"

OK

FYI My QMX+ was also missing that 30pf capacitor!

Same here.

Hi all

FYI?today I had my team check all 86 of the same batch of 80-20m QMX bags that Krzysztof SQ6GIN is reporting (# 45 is written on it). This was an 80-20m QMX, not a QMX+. Of all those 86 bags remaining in that batch, the 30pF capacitor was present in all of them. My colleague remarked that it is a small capacitor labelled "300" on one side and "K1K" on the other; it is easy to lose because it is small (without cardboard tape remnants), and could also hide in among other components... so please check again...?

I was once missing one of the caps. I found it entangled in the coil of enameled wire after digging through my spares for one.?

Hello, before assembly I count all components and arrange them on a special silicone pad with tabs.
No element could be lost without my control. This capacitor was not in the bag.

Hi Krzysztof

I always ask people to check everywhere, they have even been found stuck inside the 3.5mm jack (would not apply on the kit you have, as that socket is in another bag anyway). In 90% of cases where people?report a missing component, it's due to them misplacing it, or misunderstanding what it should look like, what bag it's in, etc etc. The other 10% is our mistake.

So should I send you a replacement capacitor? Or can you find one in your junkbox? Or locally in which case I'd happily recompense?you??

hello all---
?
my C401(20-10 meter QMX) was labeled "K3J" and tested with my cheap LC meter at 28pF.
?
so... possibly your C403(80-20 meter QMX), C401(20-10 meter QMX) is the same "K3J" labeled 30pF capacitor.
?
hope this helps

Yes, this happens a lot, too. I get someone emailing me that they are missing such-and-such capacitor, they fitted all the others, and they have one left over. And it's not the right one, it's got K1K (for example - or something) written on it. I ask them to turn the capacitor over and read the inscription on the other side...?

We also have seen some examples of capacitors here - which we TRY to identify and remove as part of the kitting process - where the capacitor must have slipped slightly in the final label printing process and the label is mis-printed or incompletely printed or sometimes double-oprinted etc.?

hi
It reminds me of two cases, first one is a joke, second one happened to me

1- Lady asking for the 710 lid for her car.

2- me missing the mike for one of the earliest QMX+?
later founding it inside one of the turning knobs.
