QDX Transmit LED #10m #12v #qdx #troubleshoot

 

Question on Transmit Testing and LED Blinking.
I just built a QDX unit and was testing on the 10M band.? Seems to receive find, but unsure of transmit.? I haven been trying to get a response to a CQ msg for the past few days with no success.? The firmware transmit test? shows OK.? I am getting 5.1W out with an SWR of 1.4.? I set the log file to only errors and the file is empty.? I tried using the PSKReporter web site but WSJT-X software would switch from 10M to OOB.

I was reading up on the transmit LED and when transmitting I do get the "gentle pulsing of the LED" as described in another thread, but at the end I get two flashes. I can find no reference to the two flashes at the end of the transmit cycle.
?
Two questions:
1. Meaning of the two flashes at the end of the transmit cycle
2. Is there a way to test and maybe get an echo back (I am new to HAM and QDX so this may seem like a strange question).

This is normal, WSJT-X leaves a gap between stopping the audio and releasing PTT.

OOB means you have selected a frequency that is not entered in the WSJT-X configuration, it's help PDF tells you how.
Also make sure the QDX is set for 10m.

I've never used PSK Reporter but you should see spots if you send a CQ on a correct frequency.

Yep, 2 flashes is normal.?
I use PSKReporter as my echo, generally. Not sure why going to PSK reporter would do anything in WJST-X? Are you going to the website to check if you've been heard??

? ? Thank you for the response.? I went back to the QDX manual and was checking on the WSJT-X settings.? I had USB selected. Once I unselected I was able to get a response to my CQ request.? I need to study the WSJT-X user guide.
