Hi Matjaz,

XUbuntu 18.04 is probably out of support since it was released in 2018.?? It may or may not work.?

Have you looked at the system logs and see if anything is logged when you plug in the QDX?

Yes, that really is my last name.

I'm using 18.04 and I know it's out of date but it works fine and I follow the if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it philosophy, or at least I try to.?

QDX and QMX work with 18.04 and the documentation examples are all done using 18.04, so check the operating manual carefully.?

For searial connection
1. Plugin
2. 'sudo dmesg' and you'll find the right device

Or: a way for unique naming: (not sur it will have qmx or qdx in the name)
unplug and check whats inside: /dev/serial/by-id/*.
plugin and check again. the new one is yours. This name will never change, unlike ttyUSB*

And don't forget the modemmanager must be removed, what isn't easy, sometimes,? as should be.

Hello matjaz
Have you activated the Dailout in your group settings.
A reboot must then take place.
I use QDX hig and Low Band under Linux Mint

my Parameter under Linux Mint

I tried dmesg and in the dev directory I get this.

If you just plugged the QDX into the computer, then from the last line of the log file, the name of the serial device you need is:

?

/dev/ttyACM0

Don't forget, you need to be a member of the 'dialout' group before you can access the serial ports.
